What are Essential Oils?

In addition to their intrinsic benefits to plants and their beautiful fragrance, essential oils have long been used for food preparation, beauty treatment, and health-care practices.
My Story
My name is Danielle Gilas. I'm a chiropractor and the founder of Vivid Health in Toronto, Ontario. I first experienced essential oils in university when I worked at a health food store in Lexington, KY. I had little experience with them after that until 10 years ago when I just knew that I wanted to know more and if my intuition was correct, I wanted to introduce them to my practice to help reduce the toxic load on my clients and to give them healthy alternatives to replace their medicine chest, clean their homes and manage moods.
I began asking around to find out more. I found little in my immediate circle, and then I came across a DoTERRA booth at a Women's Expo. After doing some research, I discovered that DoTERRA stands above the rest in both quality, sustainability and a company that's giving back; all things that are very important to me. As someone who gains knowledge through experience, I ordered my first Home Essentials Kit and diffuser. At the time, I also just found out I was pregnant. When I opened my new box of essential oils, I had no idea that my life would be forever supported in so many ways by these powerful little potions! At the time, my kit came with an Introductory CD and I popped it into my computer to have a listen. With my baby bud growing inside I learned about how these essential oils can be used to safely clean your home, support your immune system, profoundly effect mental and emotional well-being and I was truly ecstatic about supporting my family & practice with these amazing gifts of the earth.
I began using the oils during pregnancy, learning how to use them safely and effectively to manage symptoms, around the home and office to cleanse the air and shift the mood. I admired how quickly they worked and how I began to notice that I intuitively was drawn to certain oils. I also kept my trusty guidebook close to research specific conditions and recipes to create a shift in a healthy and natural way. I noticed in the office, that people would be drawn to the oil that was best suited to them and the shift in energy when they smelt it was obvious. People constantly remarked about the wonderful smell in the office and it has become a signature of our healing space. DoTERRA essential oils are used by all of the practitioners in my office, in the practice of Naturopathic Medicine, Psychology and Chiropractic. We can feel confident working with DoTERRA oils as they are vigorously quality tested and the therapeutic benefits are backed by the research.
My son is now 5 and I've used the oils almost exclusively with his bumps, bruises, coughs, colds and fevers. He woke up today with a wee little cough and we put some oils on his feet and a bit on his chest and I didn't hear another peep. We have used them on bug bites, burns, bruising and as band-aides. They are helpful for humans and pet's too!
How do you get these oils into my home/office?
At Vivid Health we have a selection of oils for retail or make a request and we will order it for you! Many prefer to order online and have them delivered directly to their home. Alternatively, if saving 25% off retail pricing speaks to you, you should become a member to be eligible for free oils, promotions and other discounts.

5. Click LRP
6. Choose delivery date (if delivered before the 15th of the month and total volume ordered is 125PV or more, you will receive the FREE Oil of the Month - announced on the 1st of the month)
7. When you make your monthly order through your LRP, your shipping costs are converted to points (essentially you will not pay for shipping) and depending on how long you are in the program, you will receive 10-30% of your purchase price in points when you order 50PV or more, that you can use to purchase FREE oils and products.
