Getting to Know Dr. Kim Callaghan ND

Updated: Sep 4, 2023

Hello!

I am so excited to be joining the team at Vivid Health. Dr. Danielle and I share the goal of helping people improve how they’re feeling so they can participate in life to the fullest.

I’ve been practicing naturopathic medicine since 2001 and have been in Bloor West Village since 2010.

Nowadays I’m focusing on hormonal health, women’s health, children’s health, and pregnancy and babies. I love talking about the body and chatting about complex medical issues in a way that everyone can comprehend. I think it’s important for people to understand what’s going on with themselves.

I’ve seen some absolutely amazing changes in the body and brain when they are given the right nudges and I’m grateful to have been a part of some heavy duty healing over the years. What a treat to get the report that a woman feels so much lighter in her mood, that a mom is sleeping for the first time since she had her kids, that a couple who has been trying to get pregnant for years finally got two lines on the stick. Or that a teen debilitated with migraines has been pain free for months, or that a super itchy skin rash has cleared right up. It’s a pretty great job.

In order to gather up as much information as possible, I book an extensive first visit. With the patient, I’ll go through details about their health history and usually do a physical exam. Sometimes I’ll order lab work or collaborate with other professionals. Then I work to put the pieces together and make a plan. As an ND, I strive to get at the root cause of what’s going on and each case is individualized and tweaked as we go.

The treatments I use most often are herbal remedies, bioidentical hormones, gentle food changes, some supplements, and acupuncture. Now, I’ve got Dr. Danielle right next door to refer for structural issues. Super.

Many of my patients are highly sensitive individuals and many are neurodiverse.

I strive to be an ally to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and to create a welcoming space for anyone and everyone to visit.

I am the mom to two high school students this year. And in my free time I love to go hiking, camping, swimming, travel. I love to knit, and check out yarnie things.

Feel free to say hello if you’re in the clinic. I’ll be delighted to meet you.
